Frequently Asked Questions

Commercial terms, lead times, documentation and the technical questions that come up most often before a first order. If your question is not here, ask it directly — a specific answer is more useful than a general brochure.

Quick reference

Commercial

Ordering and terms

What is the minimum order quantity?

One unit for machined and turned parts, and roughly 50 units for sheet metal because laser setup and press brake tooling are amortised across the batch. There is no tooling charge in any case — we do not build moulds or dies.

How long does a quote take?

Standard parts are quoted within 24 hours of receiving a STEP file and drawing. Complex assemblies or parts requiring subcontracted special processes take 2–3 days. Every quote includes a written DFM note listing cost drivers.

What is the production lead time?

7–15 working days from drawing approval and deposit for machined parts, 7–12 days for turned parts, 10–18 days for sheet metal including finishing, and 3–7 days for prototypes. Expedited production at 3–5 days is available subject to capacity.

What are your payment terms?

30% deposit with the balance before shipment for new customers, and Net 30 for established accounts after three completed orders. Payment by bank transfer in USD or EUR; we do not accept letters of credit below USD 50,000 because the fees exceed the risk reduction.

Which shipping terms do you offer?

FOB Shenzhen or Shanghai by default, DAP and DDP where you prefer a landed cost. Express air for prototypes and small orders, sea freight for volume above roughly 500 kg. We provide the HTS code and country-of-origin declaration for customs entry.

Can you sign an NDA?

Yes, before technical data is exchanged. We do not display customer parts, drawings, logos or project names in marketing material without written permission, and we do not manufacture competing products from customer designs.

Can I get samples before production?

Yes. Prototype quantities are machined on the same equipment as production, so the sample validates the actual process. Sample cost is quoted at prototype pricing and is not credited against the production order.

What file formats do you accept?

STEP (.stp/.step) preferred, plus IGES, Parasolid X_T, SolidWorks and native drawings in PDF or DXF. A STEP model with a PDF drawing carrying GD&T is the most reliable combination; a model alone carries no tolerance information.

How do you handle a design revision?

Each revision receives a new part number with its own setup sheet and inspection record. Previous revisions are archived rather than overwritten, so a machine built last year can be reproduced exactly.

What happens if parts are out of specification?

We replace or credit them, and we issue a root-cause report rather than only a replacement. Sorting at your facility, expedited replacement freight and line-stoppage costs are covered where the nonconformance is ours, as stated in our terms of sale.

Technical

Capability and tolerances

Should I choose 12 V or 24 V output for LED strips?

24 V halves the current for the same power, so voltage drop over long runs is roughly one quarter of a 12 V system — choose 24 V for runs above 5 m. The TT series outputs both 12 V and 24 V from the same housing, which removes the stocking decision entirely.

What is the minimum order quantity for OEM drivers?

Standard catalog models ship from 1 carton. OEM customization — gift boxes, laser silk-screen marking, custom housing colours and terminal options — is available for project, wholesale and OEM orders; contact sales with your specification for the MOQ and tooling cost.

How slim are these drivers, really?

The TB fully-potted series is 15 mm high, the TC linear series 18.5 mm including mounting tabs, and the TZ light box series 18.7 mm. All three were designed so the driver slides into a standard aluminium channel after the LED strip is installed.

Why does the TB series use full potting while others are semi-potted?

Full potting seals the entire primary and secondary side in silicone, which is what allows a 5-year warranty in damp or dusty interiors such as malls and bathrooms. Semi-potting covers the high-voltage side and is enough for sealed indoor environments at lower cost.

What is the largest waterproof driver you offer?

The TD series tops out at 2000 W with constant voltage and constant current dual control in an all-aluminium housing. The TY SiC series reaches 1500 W with a 5-year warranty and lower temperature rise.

What power rating do I need for a magnetic track run?

Add the wattage of every spot on the track and leave 20% headroom: a 6 m retail run with eight 12 W spots needs about 120 W, so the 200 W unit is the correct choice. The 300 W engineering grade covers long runs in showrooms.

Deeper explanations live in the knowledge base and the glossary. Drawing-specific questions are answered during the DFM review, which is free and does not commit you to an order.
