Manufacturing Capabilities

Five processes run under a single inspection system. Each page lists the specification, the equipment behind it, and — equally important — the cases where you should use a different process instead.

Summary

Our in-house capabilities are 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC milling, CNC turning with live tooling, sheet metal fabrication including laser cutting and welding, surface finishing through anodising and powder coating, and dimensional inspection on a CMM rated to ±0.002 mm. Heat treatment, forging, casting and non-destructive testing are subcontracted to audited suppliers and remain under our inspection gate.

Tolerance and cost by process

The same feature can often be produced three ways at three different price points. This table shows what each process realistically holds.

Process Typical tolerance Surface finish Economical quantity Lead time
3-axis milling±0.02 mmRa 1.6 µm1 – 10,0005–10 days
5-axis milling±0.005 mmRa 0.4 µm10 – 50,0007–15 days
CNC turning±0.005 mmRa 0.4 µm50 – 100,0007–12 days
Sheet metal±0.1 mmAs-formed or coated50 – 20,00010–18 days
Surface finishingN/A — adds 5–80 µmPer specificationAny2–6 days

Surface finishing changes dimensions: coating thickness is added to the part, so bores, threads and press fits must be specified with finish allowance in the drawing. This is decided at DFM, not after machining.
